Dr. Tan Seng Hoe is a kidney specialist in Singapore, accredited in both renal medicine and internal medicine in Singapore. A graduate from the National University of Singapore, Dr. Tan has obtained various qualifications in both local and overseas institutes of medicine. These include the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) as well as Masters in Internal Medicine from the National University of Singapore. Furthermore, Dr. Tan is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) and Fellow of the Royal College of Physician (London). Dr. Tan has extensive experience in various procedures, such as kidney biopsies, peritoneal dialysis treatments and hemodialysis treatments. In addition, he is able to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnosis and treatment to general medical conditions.
Dr. Ng Chee Yong is a renal physician,who sees patients with various kidney-related conditions such as chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, hypertension, glomerulonephritis and electrolytes imbalances. He provides kidney replacement therapies like hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis as well as extracorporeal blood purifications in intensive care units, such as continuous kidney replacement therapies and therapeutic plasma exchange. He is accredited to see patients in Gleneagles Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Parkway East Hospital, Mount Alvernia Hospital and Farrer Park Hospital.
Dr. Ng graduated from Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. After completing his Basic Specialist Training in Internal Medicine, he underwent Renal Senior Residency training in Singhealth, covering both Singapore General Hospital and Changi General Hospital. Thereafter, he joined Singhealth and continued to practise as a renal physician.
He was awarded a Health Manpower Development Program scholarship to pursue his special interest in Renal Osteodystrophy in Columbia University Medical Center, New York, USA.
During his years in public service, he was active in initiatives to improve patient care. He was involved in the Holistic Approach in Lowering and Tracking of Chronic Kidney Disease (HALT-CKD) Program by the Ministry of Health, Singapore. Besides that, he was the Chairperson for Ensure Patient Safety - Care of Patient Workgroup. Other contributions were Dedicated Inpatient Care Team, Discharge Efficiency Task Force, Mortality and Morbidity Committee for Renal Medicine and Advance Care Planning Program.
He also contributed to nurturing the future generation of doctors, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor in DUKE-NUS Medical School, Adjunct Senior Lecturer for Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Clinical Lecturer for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Furthermore, he was also an examiner for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery examination. He also participated actively in postgraduate education. He was a Clinical Physician Faculty Member for Singhealth Internal Medicine Residency Programme and Physician Faculty for Singhealth Renal Senior Residency Program.
He is serving as an executive committee member of Singapore Society of Nephrology. Also invited as speaker for kidney conferences, such as National Kidney Foundation Kidney Care Conference and Singapore Society of Nephrology Annual Scientific Meeting.
Dr. Ng was an investigator in an international pharmaceutical trial to retard progression of chronic kidney disease, which is now an approved new treatment for chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He presented in international conferences and published research articles in international journals.
To recognize his contribution to healthcare, he was conferred Singapore Health Quality Service Awards: Silver Award for Outstanding and Commendable contributions in 2023 and Hero Award for his contributions in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
In year 2008, Dr. Tan incorporated SH Tan Kidney & Medical Clinic after spending almost 20 years in Singapore’s public medical service. He is currently practicing at both Gleneagles Medical Centre and Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre.
